Underground Artist Review – J-Live

J-Live, a successful Emcee, DJ, Hip Hop Producer and the founder of ‘Thriple Threat Productions’.

J Live first appeared in the Underground Hip Hop Scene in mid 1995 when he was still a Freshman English Major At ‘University At Albany, The State University Of New York’.

J-Live first single was ‘Longetivity’ and appeared in Mark Farina’s ‘Mushroom Jazz CD’. I consider ‘The Best Part’ one of the best Albums he ever drop along side with ‘All Of The Above’. From 1995 – 1999 ‘The Best Part’ Took 4 years to be completed.

‘The Best Part’ featured producers such as Pete Rock, DJ Premier and Prince Paul. Due to problems with his Record Label, J-Live decided to leave and his album was shelved.

He later on moved to Payday Records, but when Payday’s parent company ‘London Records’ was bought from Universal Music Group by ‘WEA’, the album was again shelved.

By mid 2001, the album was finally released by J-Live’s own Record Label ‘Thriple Threat Productions’.
