T Dub’s Rant #1- Biggie Vs. 2pac

Psych!

This comparison is legendary and will never cease to be made. But is it really necessary or even legitimate?
Biggie and Pac were the driving forces behind the East Coast – West Coast hip hop war which started when 2pac claimed that Biggie and his crew didn’t help him after he was shot while visiting him. The war ended in both of the rappers’ deaths.
Now everyone and their mother is saying “Who’s better Biggie or Pac?” but this isn’t even a question worth wasting your breath for.
Biggie Smalls had one of the greatest albums ever in Ready To Die but the bottom line is, while he was alive Biggie only had one studio album. 2pac had 5 great albums.
I don’t know where you grew up but in my math class 5 > 1 all day, everyday.
There isn’t enough material to compare the two, it is a shame to think that such potential as great as Biggie’s was wasted but it was. Deal with it.
2pac is incomparable to Biggie.

Biggie had 2 albums, his 2nd came out a few weeks after he was killed

I strongly believe that Biggie was better than Tupac.. Sure he didn’t have as many albums, but based on raw talent, Biggie was better.. And also, Ready To Die is better than anything Pac put out, and Life After Death was better than most of the albums Pac put out, if not all.. And I don’t think the number of albums should be the key, because in that case, then Lil Wayne would be better than Rakim as he has more albums..

Although it’s all opinion of course..

I think Pac is better than Biggie, Biggie was a talented MC but Pac has had more classic songs than any rapper in the game period.

His last 3 albums are better than both of Biggies albums. Life After Death was a good album but All Eyez on me is better imo…ready to die is better than any Pac album but it cannot stand alone against an onslaught of classics

    Biggie has arguably 2 classics
    Pac arguably he has 3

Pac’s other work is good too…like the Thug Life album is highly slept on it was a good album also strickly for my niggaz…so I think Pac is better overall

Biggie did possess more skill than Pac but his life was cut short…to show his full potential…same goes for 2Pac

also Biggie wasn’t long enough to have a screw up album he had no longetivity, his future was unpredictable he had 1 album up to the point of death…how was the rest of his career looking 3 years active 1 album…the other posthumous

on the other hand Pac had already proved himself a great rapper with 5 albums not a single bad one…2 good ones in one year…

^^ ur Rakim/Wayne comparison is dumb because Wayne’s albums are crap 2Pac had great albums not a single bad one when he was alive…
Rakim had also proven longetivity with about 4-5 albums (can’t remember from the top of my head)

but this is just my opinion you don’t have to agree but hear me out

actually rakim’s talent is comparable to waynes, the difference is comparing them to other rappers in their time, wayne is a 5/10 for TODAYS standards but rakim was a 10/10 for his time’s standards

  5. APAK Says:

Th argument is who is BETTER.,And Biggie showed that he was more skilled on the mic than Pac on both of his albums..

And the fact that “Biggie wasn’t long enough to have a screw up album” is completely irrelevant..

And Pac released 5 albums so he did get enough chances to show his true potential.. And MATW was his best album and he made 2 after that that weren’t nearly as good as it.. And I would probably give MATW a 4.5/5 although I gave it 5/5 in the other comment to be kind.. And Biggie’s Ready To Die was WAY better than any of Pacs albums..
And the Rakim/Wayne comparison was just the example, you missed the point, read the line before that one..

    😉
