Underground Artist Review: Afroman

“Oh no another pothead on the mic!”

Afroman can be described simply as an out spoken rapper who either acts like, or always is, really, really, high. Although he has put out over 10 albums Afroman will most likely always be remembered for his two most famous tracks “Because I Got High” and “Colt 45”.

The first is a couple comical verses over a slow beat explaining the story of Afroman’s broken down life. The cause being of course that he got high.
The second, a series of stories on his encounters with women all over the world.
To tell you the truth Afroman’s skills on the mic are average if that. He has a small flow vocab, never switches his flow or delivery, and he doesn’t show any signs of being able to do multis or rap faster than conversation speed for that matter.
What makes up for all this is Afroman’s humor and storytelling, check out a few of his joints…
