Spotlight Of Excellence

Black Milk is an underground rapper/producer that I found out about after listening to Elhzi’s The Preface which was almost entirely produced by him.
• Black Milk is Detroit born and involved in a lot of mostly underground production and rapping that goes on in that area.
• He helped produce a Slum Village album which is what first established him in Detroit. Slum Village is a hip hop group from Detroit in which the late J Dilla was a member of.
• He has also worked with artists like Lloyd Banks, Pharoahe Monch, Phat Kat, Canibus, and Frank-N-Dank.
I recently listened to a solo album of his by the name of Popular Demand and found it was pretty good. I recommend picking it up sometime but it is not necessarily a must.
In any case look out for Black Milk’s production in the future.
