Album of the Week: All Eyez on Me

September 8, 2008

R.I.P Tupac Shakur
All Eyez on Me is arguably 2Pac’s best album an amazing 5/5 reviews from multiple sources, and this week will be the 12th anniversary of his tragic date.

It was the first Hip Hop Duo disc album, the album went platinum in 4 hours and has been certified Diamond, it’s one of the few. It is called one of the greatest albums of the 90’s.

He immediately starting working on the album when he was released from prison. All 27 songs were finished in a mere 2 weeks. His fastes was the 7 Day Theory which took about 1 week. Although his style had changed up to a more “Gangsta” style he still delivered with deep songs like Life Goes One & Only God Can Judge Me.

2. All Bout U
3. Skandalouz

8. Heartz Of Men
9. Life Goes On

September 7th Special Dates

September 8, 2008

Lets mourn for moment here today. September 7th is the day Tupac Amaru Shakur was shot in Las Vegas after the Tyson fight which only lasted about 4 minutes. He had gotten into a fight with Orlando Anderson before the shooting.(personal blow my name is Orlando). Some how the shooter got away & nobody was held responsible for the shooting. 2Pac died 6 Days later on Friday the 13 at 4:03 PM.

Another Notable Date today is the birthday of Eazy-E, he would have been 45 today he died of the AIDS virus 13 years ago. He didn’t write his own lyrics but his charisma carried his rap career over & he was a good business man & the founder of NWA. Eazy-E left behind 7 children & he married Tomika recently before his unfortunate death.

R.I.P to both of these West Coast Legends

T Dub’s Rant #1- Biggie Vs. 2pac

August 29, 2008

Psych!

This comparison is legendary and will never cease to be made. But is it really necessary or even legitimate?
Biggie and Pac were the driving forces behind the East Coast – West Coast hip hop war which started when 2pac claimed that Biggie and his crew didn’t help him after he was shot while visiting him. The war ended in both of the rappers’ deaths.
Now everyone and their mother is saying “Who’s better Biggie or Pac?” but this isn’t even a question worth wasting your breath for.
Biggie Smalls had one of the greatest albums ever in Ready To Die but the bottom line is, while he was alive Biggie only had one studio album. 2pac had 5 great albums.
I don’t know where you grew up but in my math class 5 > 1 all day, everyday.
There isn’t enough material to compare the two, it is a shame to think that such potential as great as Biggie’s was wasted but it was. Deal with it.
2pac is incomparable to Biggie.

News: Another 2Pac album?

August 25, 2008

He’s been dead for almost 12 years and he has more posthumous albums then any dead rapper…guess who it is? 2Pac of course. It’s rumored that there might be a 7th posthumous album, it is just a rumor but it most likely true because when Suge & Death Row were sold for a mere 24 million dollars & guess what Susan Berg found…20 unreleased 2Pac songs. The album might be released this year, though I doubt it, it will most likely be released in 2009.

“That “new” Tupac album could see the light of day as early as this year”
