Wu Tang Clan, one of the best Hip Hop Group to make an impact in Hip Hop History. The group is from New York City consisting 9 rappers such as RZA, GZA, Method Man, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, U-God, Inspectah Deck, Masta Killah and the late rapper Ol’ Dirty Bastard.
The Founders of the ‘Wu Tang Clan’ were GZA, RZA and Ol’ Dirty Bastard. Wu Tang Clan was gradually formed in late 1992 from friends and accomplices from around, with RZA as the ‘De Facto Leader’ and the group’s Producer. The RZA and Ol’ Dirty Bastard adopted the name for the group after seeing a ‘Kung Fu’ Film called ‘Shaolin And The Wu Tang’ which features a school of warriors trained in Wu Tang style.
The group developed various Backronyms for thier groups name (Similar to what KRS One and Big Daddy Kane did to thier names), including “We Usually Take All Niggas’ Garments,” “Witty Unpredictable Talent And Natural Game” and “Wisdom, Universe, Truth, Allah, Nation, and God.
The group also made a highly popular and memorable acronym known as ‘C.R.E.A.M’ (Cash Rules Everything Around Me).
